"Slavutich" brewing company joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative. The company will maintain the global UN initiatives that contribute to the development of the Ukrainian community and environmental protection of our country.
The UNGC is a voluntary initiative, which objective is to introduce the main principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR) into the world practice. 10 rules that govern the companies' behaviour in the sphere of human rights, labour resources, environmental protection and corruption counteraction underlie the Compact. Thus, the UN initiative promotes the active development of a society.
It is worth mentioning that "Slavutich" has demonstrated the practical application of these ethical principles since long before. During the last three years the company has implemented a number of projects that preserve natural resources and reduce the negative impact of production processes on the environment. Besides, «Ñëàâóòè÷», Carlsberg Group implements social projects on the local communities' development. The arrangement of two centres for veterans and elderly people in Zaporizhzhya is among the recent initiatives in this direction.
The Global Compact has united the whole world in 1999. As of today the global initiative signatories are more than 6,500 business entities and public organisations in 135 countries around the world. Ukraine joined the programme in 2006. Today the program is supported by 142 companies and organisations of our country.
Yuri Bykoriz, Executive Vice-President at «Ñëàâóòè÷», Carlsberg Group: "For our company the signing of the Compact is another significant step in our desire to develop business responsibly. We consider that the observance of UN Global Compact 10 main principles promotes not only responsible growth of the "Slavutich" company but also the development of our state and society."
