Carlsberg Ukraine Company, one of the leading producers of beer, low-alcoholic and non-alcoholic products in Ukraine, is included into the list of the largest and most conscientious taxpayers of the country, created by the popular Ukrainian weekly Korrespondent.
The list includes 20 public and private companies, which according to the results of the year 2011 paid the largest amount of taxes to the budget of Ukraine. In general, the list consists of 11 international and 9 domestic companies, 3 of them representing public sector. Carlsberg Ukraine Company (Slavutich brewery) which in 2011 transferred to the budget over than 1 billion hryvnias, holds the 16th position in the rating by Korrespondent.
The top list was made according to the State Tax Service of Ukraine, Stock Market Infrastructure Development Agency of Ukraine, Securities and Stock Market State Commission and the participating companies of the largest regional taxpayers list.
Vitaliy Sych, Editor-in-Chief of Korrespondent: “This top list, in one sense, is unique, because the State Tax Service of Ukraine does not disclose data about the largest taxpayers of the country, considering it confidential, and only provides top 5 largest taxpayers in the regions. So we spent two months to collect this information. The high position of Carlsberg Ukraine in the top list confirms the idea that foreign companies follow the highest standards in terms of taxes. I am sure that this will go on”.
Petr Chernyshov, Chief Executive at Carlsberg Ukraine: “Our company does business fairly based on the requirements of Ukrainian legislation and European standards of Carlsberg Group. Our activity proves that regardless of market figures and company size it is possible to develop successfully and responsibly in our country, if taking fundamental principle of disclosure as the basis”.
