Lvov Brewery sums up the results for 2012

Lvov Brewery, one of the three production sites of Carlsberg Ukraine, has summed up the results for 2012. Over the past year, Carlsberg Ukraine transferred UAH 1 billion 229 million to the budgets of different levels, including in Lvov − over UAH 16 million of taxes and fees.

In total for the reporting period the brewery filled over 143 million litres of beer, which is 17 million litres less than in the previous year. The decrease in volumes is primarily due to the economic situation in the country, fall in the population's paying capacity, and, respectively, the decrease in demand for beer.

For several years in a row, Lvov Brewery, which is included in the list of the most environmentally-friendly companies of the Western region, has been following the company's environmental policy. Thus, in 2011, the initial phase of the first stage of treatment facilities construction was completed. Today, Lvov Brewery continues to improve the biological wastewater treatment system. In addition, in 2012, brewing unit insulation was completed, which enables to reduce the heat loss by 10%, and accordingly, ensure energy savings.

Lvov Brewery pays special attention to the personnel safety at production. In particular, due to the absence of emergencies at the brewery, complaints about working conditions in 2011-2012, as well as due to the company's initiatives, which exceed the requirements of the law, Lvov Brewery has recently been recognized as the best and safest brewery in the Eastern Europe among Carlsberg Group companies. Lvov Brewery was awarded the annual Group's prize − Health & Safety Awards.

We shall remind that the capacity of production lines at Lvov Brewery is 297 million litres of beer and soft drinks a year. Currently, the Brewery produces such beer brands as Lvivske, Baltika, Khmelnoye, Slavutich, Arsenal, Zatesky Gus, as well as natural fermentation kvass Kvas Taras. The brewery employs 328 employees. It should be noted that the brewery started filling Zatesky Gus beer in PET bottles last year and switched to capping with the cork of the new format.

Roman Holovnya, Director of Lvov Brewery: "Currently, Lvov Brewery, which, by the way, is the oldest in Ukraine and soon will celebrate its 300th anniversary, is one of the most modern and largest enterprises in the country. Due to the continuous improvement of the production process, our brewery produces the premium quality products. This is confirmed by international certificates ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO 22000:2005 (Food Safety Management Systems)."
