Carlsberg Ukraine has released a report describing the company's progress and major achievements in the field of corporate social responsibility in 2012-2013.
CSR has become an integral part of the strategy of Carlsberg Ukraine. One of the key objectives is to integrate CSR into all areas of work of Carlsberg Ukraine. To develop CSR guidelines, Carlsberg Group companies have come up with the Growing Responsibly concept - being the world's fastest growing beer company, taking a socially responsible approach to business and constantly monitoring its impact on the environment and society.
Among the major achievements of the reporting period is improved energy efficiency: in 2009-2013, the consumption of thermal energy, electricity and water felt by 33%, 26% and 27% respectively. In the field of environmental protection, biogas replaced 6.27% of natural gas at the Zaporozhye brewery and 3.22% at the Kiev brewery. Following the strategy of careful use of natural resources, in two years the company has reused over 560 million glass bottles, which helped to significantly reduce the amount of solid waste that pollutes the environment. The company is also an honest taxpayer: in 2012-2013, Carlsberg Ukraine paid a total of 2.504 billion grivnas in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels.
This is the second CSR report of Carlsberg Ukraine compiled according to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact which the company signed in 2010.
