On August 19-20, 2014, a certification audit was held at Carlsberg Ukraine's Lvov Brewery. The audit showed that the company is effective and compliant with high health and safety standards.
Ukraine's oldest brewery with a 300-year history, the Lvov Brewery has successfully passed the certification audit of its health and safety management system, proving its compliance with the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard. The requirements of the standard have been successfully integrated into the company's management system to ensure stability, quality, safety and environmentally friendly production of high-quality beers and soft drinks.
OHSAS 18000 is a series of standards with requirements and guidelines for the development and implementation of health and safety management systems, whose use allows manufacturers to control the risks associated with management systems and improve the efficiency of their operations. Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (or OHSAS) Standard 18001:2007 was designed with the participation of the national standards bodies of Great Britain, Japan, Ireland and other countries. The system was created to meet the requirements of OHSAS 18001, ILO/OSH 2001 (Guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems), developed by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and using the national legislation of Ukraine.
Experts of the audit firm TMS (the official representative office of TÜV SÜD, a global leader in providing inspection, advisory and certification services, in Ukraine) pointed out that at all stages of production the plant effectively applies modern methods and tools for occupational heath and safety management. The auditors noted the high professionalism of the employees, manufacturing discipline and culture, integrated personnel training programmes and effective laboratory control at all stages of production.
Aleksandr Rudnev, Operational Logistics and Customer Service Director and Acting Production Director at Carlsberg Ukraine: "Every year all Carlsberg Ukraine's plants implement new projects and programmes that help to improve not only product quality, but also working conditions. With its 300th anniversary in October 2015, the Lvov Brewery has passed a long way implementing international requirements and has proved its compliance with the highest occupational health and safety standards. Next year we plan to do the same at the other plants of our company".
